1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

2. The Service

cortexlearnupsc is an online learning platform for UPSC preparation. It provides interactive courses, test series, practice questions, flashcards, maps, current affairs, writing tools and related study features. All of that learning content is free to use with a registered account, in full and without a time limit. No course, test, deck or article is held back for paying subscribers.

The only metered part of the Service is the set of features that run a live AI model on your request: doubt clearance (Ask Cortex and the in-course mentors), AI-generated practice questions, AI writing analysis, brainstorming and review, AI-generated idea maps, and AI correction of uploaded answer sheets. These run on the allowances described in section 5.

3. Licence & acceptable use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own, non-commercial study. You agree not to:

• copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute or publicly share any content from the Service except as expressly permitted;
• share, sell or transfer your account or login credentials to any other person;
• attempt to access the Service through automated means, scrape content, or interfere with its security or operation;
• use the Service for any unlawful, harmful or abusive purpose.

4. Intellectual property

All content, courses, questions, designs, logos, software and other materials on the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted to you except the limited licence described above.

5. Subscriptions, pricing & payments

• A subscription buys AI capacity, not content. Nothing in the learning library is locked behind a plan, so there is nothing for a subscription to unlock. What a paid plan does is raise your AI allowance for doubt clearance, AI practice questions and AI writing help, raise the monthly quota of answers we mark on an uploaded answer sheet, and enable live web look-ups in Ask Cortex. A free account currently includes 25 AI messages in any rolling 5-hour period and 120 in any rolling week, plus 5 answers marked per month regardless of how many pages they run to (that monthly count resets at 00:00 IST on the 1st of each month). We may adjust these allowances; the figures in force for every tier are always published on our Pricing page.
• Paid plans and their prices are shown on our Pricing page. Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless stated otherwise.
• Payments are collected through our payment gateway, Razorpay. By purchasing a plan you also agree to Razorpay’s terms.
• Subscriptions are recurring: your chosen plan (monthly or annual) auto-renews at the end of each period. When you subscribe you authorise Razorpay, via a secure e-mandate, to charge your selected payment method for each renewal until you cancel. Razorpay notifies you before each renewal as required. You may cancel any time from your dashboard to stop future charges; your paid AI allowance runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, as described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy. One-time AI credit top-ups do not auto-renew.
• Refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

6. AI-generated content

Some features of the Service use artificial intelligence to generate or assist with content (for example, study explanations, writing feedback and idea maps). AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. It is provided for study assistance only and should not be relied upon as authoritative; always verify important facts against trusted sources.

7. Disclaimer

The Service and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for educational purposes. We do not guarantee any particular result, score or success in any examination, and we make no warranty that the content is complete, accurate or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a manner that may cause harm. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.

10. Changes to the Service & Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.
